U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) released the following statement regarding reports that President Obama will not meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to the United States. According to news reports, the White House cited a scheduling conflict.
"It's troubling that the president couldn't find time in his schedule to meet with the leader of our closest and most reliable ally in the Middle East. Based on this incident -- and recent statements by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - it appears that this administration is more focused on preventing Israel from protecting its own sovereignty than preventing Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability."
