Here is what I will continue to strive for over the next four years:

1. I am working tirelessly to fully fund basic education because it is our paramount duty and responsibility to our kids.

2. I will invest in preschool, invest in all day kindergarten and support our littlest learners through third grade. This ensures our children's long term success.

3. I secured equal funding for middle schools to begin STEM educational programs. I will expand STEM education to grades K through 12 linking them to the high demand jobs in Washington State. It is my goal that Washington State become the #1 source for careers in the STEM industry.

4. In 2009 I sponsored SB 6696 which created a four tiered evaluation system which ensures a high quality teacher in every classroom. With input from principals, teachers, parents and students we have built an evaluation system that we will implement statewide in 2013. I am so proud of the work we have accomplished together.
