California Coastal Cleanup Day, our state's largest volunteer event, gives every Californian a chance to pitch in to clean up our coast, lakes, and other waterways.
This year, the 28th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday, September 15th, from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
California's beaches are some of the most spectacular places on earth, yet garbage, plastic, and other trash -- whether it's dumped in the ocean, left on a beach, or washed to sea by storm drains -- poses a severe threat to the marine environment. By keeping our beaches and waterways clean, we can take a giant step towards cleaning up our oceans.
