Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Deb Fischer for U.S. Senate, citing Fischer's accomplishments as a member of the Nebraska Legislature and her strong support for pro-growth, pro-jobs policies at the federal level.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business advocacy organization, representing more than three million businesses across the country.

The organization has a bipartisan record of U.S. Senate endorsements in Nebraska, endorsing Ben Nelson during his re-election campaign in 2006.

"I'm very pleased to have the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce," said U.S. Senate candidate Deb Fischer. "Small businesses have struggled under President Obama's failed economic policies, and we need a new direction in order to turn our economy around. I've offered a plan to reform our broken tax code, cut down on burdensome regulations, repeal and replace Obamacare, and work towards a balanced budget."

In the U.S. Senate race, Fischer is the only candidate who has released a detailed plan to create jobs and grow our economy.

Fischer's plan calls for overhauling the nation's tax code and permanently repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax and Death Tax. It also offers ways to eliminate excessive government mandates and regulations.

To address rising energy costs, Fischer's plan proposes increasing domestic energy production and advancing the development of alternative energy.

Her plan also calls for the repeal of Obamacare and implementation of market-based policies to reduce health care costs and increase accessibility.

As a member of the Nebraska Legislature, Senator Fischer has a proven record of fighting for pro-growth, pro-small business policies.

In 2007, she helped pass the largest tax relief package in state history, which slashed property taxes and eliminated the estate tax.

In the 2011 Legislative session, Senator Fischer introduced and led the successful passage of the Build Nebraska Act to fund the lifeblood of Nebraska's communities--its roads. Fischer's work was praised as "an achievement that has evaded other state officials for too many years" by the Lincoln Journal Star.

Fischer has also supported key initiatives in the Legislature that have helped to create jobs and boost economic growth. These include the Nebraska Advantage Act, which provides tax incentives to businesses that expand and create jobs in Nebraska; the Nebraska Super Advantage Act, which helps communities boost business recruitment and economic development efforts; and the Business Innovation Act, which supports research, innovation and development in Nebraska small businesses and public and private colleges and universities.
"There's a stark difference between the candidates on issues that create jobs, and the choice for Nebraska voters is clear," said Doug Loon, the U.S.

Chamber's vice president of regional affairs. "We're proud to stand with Deb and highlight her strong record fighting for job creators, rather than stifling them with taxes, mandates, and regulations."

"Deb Fischer's proven record in Nebraska shows that she will represent the state's values while advocating for policies that advance growth and hiring," said Bob Milligan, former chair of the U.S. Chamber's Board of Directors and Chairman and Founder of Nature's Variety, Inc.
