Today marks 20 years since my opponent voted against the Family & Medical Leave Act, calling the bill which provides families time off after childbirth or to care for a sick relative "harmful." I couldn't disagree more. Supporting women and their families is key to ensuring workplace equality and a strong economy. To date, this legislation has helped nearly 80 million Americans, more than half of whom are women. As a senator, I'll support measures like this one, legislation to ensure equal pay for equal work, and continue to fight efforts to legislate women's health care decisions.
