Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement today condemning the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya by violent protesters where four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens:
"My prayers are with the friends and families of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the other courageous Americans who lost their lives in Benghazi, Libya. The deadly attack on the consulate by violent Islamic extremists was tragic and serves as a constant reminder of the ongoing safety issues facing the region. These attacks will not stop America from promoting freedom and democracy in the Middle East or any other part of the world."
