Congresswoman Jenkins released the following statement regarding the anniversary of the terrorist attacks that shook our nation 11 years ago.
"Today marks the eleventh anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a day we will never forget. The events of that morning touched us all, and forever changed the course of our nation. In the days that followed, our nation struggled to come to grips with the shock and sadness of such a devastating tragedy.
"On this somber occasion, I invite my fellow Kansans to join me in this national day of service and remembrance to pay tribute to the victims, the survivors, their families and friends and the heroism and bravery of our first responders. But let us also honor our men and women in uniform who remain spread across the globe sacrificing each day, so that we may maintain our peace and freedom here at home."
