Dear Friend,

As a reminder, my staff holds mobile office hours every Friday from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Schaumburg Township Center, located at One Illinois Blvd in Hoffman Estates. If you cannot make it to one of my district offices, let us come to you!

This week, the Congressional Budget Office informed us that the 6-month Continuing Resolution, agreed to by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker John Boehner, which is supposed to fund the government, will cost $8 billion more than current spending levels. I have been working hard to clean up Washington and end the fuzzy-math games that support the federal government's reckless spending habits. But this new spending deal is the same old, broken politics that got us into this mess in the first place. I am calling on House Leadership to stop passing Continuing Resolutions or stop-gap measures unless they contain actual spending cuts. American families have had to tighten their belts for four years now and live with less. It's time for Washington to do the same.
