Fighting for Colorado's Schools

Statement

When two of the most important women in your life are educators, you can't just talk about fighting for education.

I know how supportive you've been of me and my campaign, so I want you to know that when I tell you that I will stand up for our schools, teachers, and children, I mean it.

In the Colorado Senate, I championed numerous bills improving Colorado's schools and helped create new opportunities at every level of education, and I will do the same in Congress.

Will you help me bring some of these Colorado Solutions to Congress? Pitch in just $5 before our end of the week goal at midnight tonight.

Here are just a few education bills from my time in the Colorado Senate that prove what type of pro-education Congressman I'll be:

In 2005, I passed legislation that made kindergarten available to every child in Colorado.

In 2009, I passed legislation creating incentives for veterans to become public school teachers.

In 2011, I increased funding for full-day kindergarten and passed a balanced budget.

In 2012, I introduced legislation to create a sales-tax holiday for the purchase of school supplies to make things easier for families with children in school.
There are only 67 days left for voters to learn about how I've championed education policy in Colorado, but I need your support to get that message out. Your contribution of $5, $15, or even $50 today will help us talk to every single voter. Can I count on your support?

Each person in Colorado's 4th Congressional District should know that I have a proven record defending public education and introducing innovative ways to make college affordable. On the other hand, my opponent Cory Gardner has voted to slash education funding for Colorado schools and Pell grants.
We have a fundraising goal of raising $5,000 before midnight. What we're able to raise before midnight determines our ability to communicate with voters on television, mail, and door-to-door. Can you donate $25 right now to get our pro-education message out?

I know I ask a lot of you, and I can't express how grateful I am for your continued support.
