U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement regarding the 11 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:
"Today, as our nation pauses to reflect on the terrorist attack on our homeland in September 2001, we must not forget the many sacrifices born by our first responders, military and national security forces as they worked to keep us out of harm's way that day and defend us from further assaults since that time. The rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that are guaranteed to us as Americans are preserved through the valor and steadfastness of those who engage the enemy on distant battlefields to protect and preserve this nation that we all love. Our troops deserve our unwavering support for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make.
"For the thousands of our citizens that were lost on September 11, 2001, and for the families that continue to feel the pain of that day, we pray that they will be comforted. For our troops, first responders and national security forces who continue to dedicate their lives to preserve our freedoms and increase our safety, we are eternally grateful. We must always remember that the strength of our nation was revealed on that tragic September 11 morning as we were drawn together to support our neighbors, fight our enemies, grieve together and reignite the flames of freedom that push darkness aside and shine light to the world," stated Webster.
