Rodney Davis, Republican nominee for the 13th Congressional District of Illinois, issued the following statement on this morning's disappointing unemployment figures:
"We're now in our 43rd straight month of national unemployment over eight percent. And we continue to see higher unemployment rates than that in many parts of Central and Southwest Illinois. Not only are Americans having a hard time finding work, many have given up on finding work altogether. Government is failing our citizens. As I travel around the 13th District, I hear from job creators and business owners that we need to cut spending, reduce the $16 trillion national debt, and repeal and replace Obamacare with a real market-based solution to help get our economy back on track. I'm committed to those priorities when I go to Congress."
