Today, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard released the following statement on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks:
Today, let us take a moment to remember the 2,819 who were killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001. Eleven years ago our country experienced one of the worst acts of violence and hate in our nation's history. We also saw some of the greatest acts of courage, patriotism and compassion. In honor of all those who lost their lives and those who continue to mourn a loved one, let us recapture that sense of cooperation and unity as a country. The heroes of September 11th continue to serve as an example to us all, and I hope you will join with me in remembering them today.
