Today Bill Foster spoke to Illinois delegates in Charlotte about his campaign to fight for middle class families in Illinois and Congresswoman Biggert's failed jobs record. People are frustrated with Washington and after 30 years in politics and 13 years in Congress, years during which Congresswoman Biggert joined Paul Ryan in voting for all of the policies that drove us into debt, wrecked our economy, and produced no jobs during the 8 years of Republican control, Congresswoman Biggert is no longer on the side of the middle class. Congresswoman Biggert voted twice for the Ryan budget that raises taxes on the middle class and ends Medicare as we know it, all in order to protect tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. Bill Foster will put the needs of the middle class first, and fight to protect Medicare for seniors.
"I was honored today to have the opportunity to speak to Illinois delegates at the Democratic National Convention," said Bill Foster. "The Romney-Ryan-Biggert plan to dismantle Medicare and raise taxes on middle class families in order to protect tax breaks for billionaires and corporations would devastate Illinois families. After 13 years in Congress voting for the bad policies that failed to create jobs in Illinois or anywhere in the country, Congresswoman Biggert is no longer on the side of the middle class. The economy does best when the middle class prospers, and we need people in Washington who will put the interests of middle class families first."
