Bill Foster released the following statement today in response to Lilly Ledbetter's speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
"I was proud to watch tonight as Democrats honored Lilly Ledbetter and I am proud to have her endorsement for my campaign," said Bill Foster. "In Illinois, women still only make 76 cents on the dollar compared with men who do the same work. Congresswoman Biggert's opposition to equal pay is a clear indication that after 30 years in politics, she just is not on the side of middle class families anymore. I was proud to vote for both the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act. Middle class families need to be our first priority, and that means making sure that equal work merits equal pay."
