Today, 8th Congressional District Candidate Tammy Duckworth held a Restaurant Roundtable in Schaumburg, Illinois to discuss the impact of healthcare reform on small businesses. Duckworth listened to owners of several area restaurants and their concerns about implementation of the Affordable Care Act, access to capital, infrastructure development and the role of federal government in business.
"Small Businesses are the backbone of America's economy and create a majority of American jobs. I am thrilled to be here today in Schaumburg to listen to Illinois entrepreneurs and learn more about how government can partner with small businesses to create jobs and strengthen our economy," said Duckworth. "While I support provisions in the Affordable Care Act such as preventing insurance companies from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, we must also make sure that small businesses are protected from burdensome regulations."
