Griffin Hears from Constituents on "Sweet Tea with Tim' Listening Tour

Press Release

Date: Sept. 7, 2012
Location: Little Rock, AR

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after completing three more "Sweet Tea with Tim" listening tour events today in Benton, Perryville and Morrilton:

"Today's unemployment report confirms what I've been hearing from Arkansans across the Second District: President Obama's failed policies have made our economy worse and are leaving Americans with less and less hope. Many folks that I've talked with at my "Sweet Tea with Tim' events are concerned that Medicare is on a path to bankruptcy, the national debt continues to soar higher and higher, college loans are becoming more and more costly, and unemployment remains unacceptably high. Too many veterans are out of work or struggling to obtain the benefits they have earned. Hardworking Arkansans deserve much better, and their thoughts and concerns will continue to be at the forefront of my mind when Congress reassembles for votes next week."

As part of his "Sweet Tea with Tim" listening tour, Griffin has visited seven counties and held eight events where constituents have shared their thoughts on issues directly with him and made formal requests for help dealing with the federal government. Numerous opportunities to assist constituents have been identified. Events in North Little Rock and Danville--which are free and open to the public--are scheduled for later this month.

Photos from each of Griffin's events can be found on his official Facebook page.

Griffin is always available to meet with constituents whenever it is convenient for them. If someone is unable to make any of these tour events, they are encouraged to contact his office about scheduling an appointment by calling (501) 324-5941 or by emailing Tim.Griffin@mail.house.gov.
