Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement commemorating the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
"Today, on the eleventh anniversary of that fateful Tuesday morning, we remember the nearly 3,000 American citizens that lost their lives in a senseless act of terrorism.
"We remember and cherish those who perished in New York, Washington and southern Pennsylvania. We remember and honor our heroes in uniform who have fought and continue to fight against terrorism so Americans can enjoy the freedoms we value.
"To this day, America's heart still grieves over this tragedy, but our resolve and faith remains strong. In honor of the lives lost and the sacrifices made since that September day, let us renew our resolve to work together to make our country a safer and more prosperous place."
