I recently visited the site of the future Berryessa BART Station, where I received a briefing about the BART-Silicon Valley extension project. To view photos, please click here.
During my visit, I was pleased to note that this project is nearly one year ahead of schedule. Once completed, the full BART-Silicon Valley extension will support 2,500 temporary jobs and up to 7,400 permanent jobs. After its completion, the extension will carry more than 90,000 daily riders and will help reduce traffic congestion, improve transit times, and create a solution to the crowded I-880 and I-680 corridors.
I am so pleased to see this exciting project on track, and I am looking forward to coming back when this wonderful new piece of the Bay Area's transportation infrastructure is complete.
