Governor Nikki Haley today lowered Statehouse flags in honor of the National Day of Service and Remembrance and released the following statement:

"Michael and I join everyone across South Carolina and our nation as we mark the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Today, we remember those we lost, the strength of their family and friends, the courage of those who responded, and the sacrifice of those men and women who put on a uniform every day to defend our freedom. We will never forget."
