Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) released the following statement on Governor Mitt Romney's energy policy, which was released today.
"Whether filling up at the pump or putting food on the table, Wisconsinites have been hit hard by President Obama's failing economic policies and energy strategy. For the past three and a half years, the Obama Administration has blocked development of our domestic energy resources at every turn, by canceling energy leases, enforcing a moratorium on 85 percent of offshore areas, and imposing burdensome regulations for natural gas production. On top of that, this Administration has declared war on coal in an effort to stop this affordable energy resource that is critical to our state.
"Governor Romney today unveiled an energy plan that rejects President Obama's failed energy strategy. Romney's plan would implement a true all-of-the-above energy policy to help spur new jobs and achieve energy security. Rather than pursue the same failed policies that inspired the Solyndra boondoggle, a President Romney would aggressively pursue new energy and technologies and give states flexibility to develop our vast domestic resources. Governor Romney understands that small businesses and Wisconsin families can't afford four more years of President Obama's plan to increasing government barriers to safe, affordable energy."
