The Sierra Club has awarded liberal Bill Nelson its blessing for killing the Keystone Pipeline project. Liberal Bill Nelson carried the water for the Sierra Club and President Obama when he helped lead the charge to kill the Keystone Pipeline in the Senate, even though it had bi-partisan support from around the country.
Of Nelson's job-killing vote against the pipeline, Mack said:
"The simple truth is the Lockstep Liberals -- Senator Nelson and President Obama have failed us. They've chosen to keep us dependent on oil from the likes of Venezuela and the Middle East over our Canadian allies.
"Unfortunately for the people of Florida and the nation, the Lockstep Liberals would rather do the bidding of a handful of leftwing environmental extremists then do what's best and right for the people and our economy at a time when the Obama-Nelson team have given us sustained unemployment of over 8.2%. Enough is enough."
Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Congressman Connie Mack aggressively pushed for the construction of the pipeline and authored legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that would allow for the critical jobs and energy project to be built.
As Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, Mack held the first hearing in the Congress to approve the pipeline in February 2011.
