LeAnne Kolb of Jacksonville confirmed her candidacy today for the 5th Congressional District of Florida. Kolb will be the only Republican contender on the ballot running against incumbent Congresswoman Corrine Brown in the 2012 general election.
Kolb met the filing deadline well ahead of the June 8th cutoff for 2012 U.S. Congress elections turning in the required 2,298 signatures. Kolb has been endorsed by Florida Representative Charles Van Zant Sr., Florida State Attorney Angela Corey, Conservative Ministers of Central Florida, Personhood FL ProLife PAC, and Lifeline Resources. More endorsements are expected as the campaign progresses this summer.
"Our Founding Fathers believed that future Americans would be happy if they could prevent government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. The people of Florida's 5th District are not happy with Corrine Brown's wasteful spending on unethical, taxpayer financed earmarks to special interest lobbying groups. I'm in this race to win back the public's trust and be the kind of leader who will fight against under-handed, wasteful use of the people's money," Kolb said.
LeAnne and her husband, Cris, are small business owners in the Jacksonville area. They have been married 21 years and have 6 children and one grandchild. Visit www.kolb4congress.com
