The momentum for my campaign continues to build, we are firing on all cylinders and yesterday, I was proud to receive the support and endorsement of former Governor M. Jodi Rell at a public event at Danbury City Hall.

It was the Governor's first endorsement since leaving office two years ago and I was joined by Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, State Senator Michael McLachlan, Rep. Debra Lee Hovey, Rep. Jan Giegler, Rep. David Scribner, Rep. Rich Smith, Councilwoman Mary Teicholz, and former Rep. Mae Schmidle for the announcement, which was covered by Connecticut television, radio and print media.

Also today, the Register-Citizen published an editorial sharply critical of my opposition's comments and reliance on stock talking points from the extreme, hyper-partisan national Democratic Party's media machine in an effort to distort my record. As Governor Rell said, "Everyone who knows Andrew knows that that simply is not true," Rell said. "Andrew is a moderate. … He's a fiscal conservative, which I am, and which I appreciate in him. I think he is one of the most thoughtful, reasonable individuals I know on all issues."

I am very confident that Connecticut voters, like the Register-Citizen, will reject my opponent's extreme partisan message in this race. Meanwhile, I will continue to work all day, every day to bring my message of smaller government, lower taxes and more jobs to the voters of the 5th District. It's crunch time in this critical, nationally-targeted race -- I deeply appreciate your support and will need it more than ever between now and November 6th!
Thank-you,

Andrew
