Issue Position

Government Spending: It is morally and practically irresponsible for our government to continue spending more than it takes in. We cannot allow our national debt to exceed our GDP. We must cut programs, but not leave people without safety nets. Every department's budget needs to be reviewed to maximize efficiencies. I oppose across the board cuts because they too often destroy the very goals we are seeking to achieve. We must apply both courage and discernment to the urgent mission of reigning in government spending.
