I am a strong supporter of increased funding for the National Institute of Health and for federal funding of stem cell research. Too many of our parents and friends suffer from tragic illnesses such as ALS, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's, and other diseases where stem cell research offers the hope of new treatments and even cures.
