In an extended interview yesterday at the Republican National Convention, Congressman Boehner told FOX News' Brett Baier that Mitt Romney is in strong position to win Ohio on November 6th. Boehner also said VP Nominee Paul Ryan -- a Miami University graduate -- "will help" Republicans in the Buckeye State and criticized Democrats for having no plan to save or protect Medicare. Following are video and key excerpts.

Boehner Says Ohio Republicans Are Committed to the Romney-Ryan Ticket

"[I]f you look at our turnout operation on the Republican side going back to 2000, 2004 or 2008, we've got a real operation to turn our voters out. While the Obama team has a lot of paid people on the ground, most of ours are volunteers who have a real commitment to the race. I think Mitt Romney is in a perfect spot to win Ohio."

Boehner Says John Kasich & Ohio are Making Progress Despite President Obama's Harmful National Economic Policies

"Our economy in Ohio is doing better, and our unemployment rate is down to 7.3 [percent]. When that new rate came out last month, the unemployment rate in 44 other states went up. John Kasich is trying to do his best, but he's fighting the economic policies that are coming out of Washington -- making it more difficult for him."

Boehner Says Republicans Are the Only ones Offering a Plan to Save & Protect Medicare

"There's only one fact here. And that is President Obama and House and Senate Democrat voted to cut $718 billion out of Medicare. Period. They can criticize our plan but where is their plan? They have no plan. If you watched the first three days after Paul Ryan was named the VP, Democrats were gleeful. They were going to go after Paul Ryan on Medicare. Well guess what, after about three days they stopped, because they were losing the fight."

Boehner: November's Election Will a Referendum on President Obama's Jobs Policies

"It's all about the economy. The American people are asking "where are the jobs?"… they want to go back to work."
