Owens Releases First Ad, "Create New Ones"

Statement

Date: Aug. 22, 2012

This morning, Congressman Bill Owens unveiled his first television ad of 2012, highlighting his service at Plattsburgh Air Force Base and practical approach to job creation.

"When Plattsburgh Air Force Base closed, we took practical steps to redeveloping the site and bringing back jobs. It's that experience that drives me to work for jobs across the North Country and Upstate New York. Our first ad focuses on solutions our communities need- attracting jobs from Canada, tax credits for small businesses that create good jobs, and cracking down on Chinese currency manipulation," said Congressman Bill Owens.

The ad will air initially in the Albany media market.

Below is a link to the ad and transcript-

When jobs go away, you create new ones. I'm Bill Owens, and I was a captain at Plattsburgh Air Force Base.

After it closed, I helped redevelop the base and attract over two thousand new jobs. We can do that all over Upstate New York.

My plan: Recruit jobs from Canada like we did here. Tax credits for small businesses that create good jobs. And it's time to stop China from cheating.

I approve this message because if you want to sell your products in America, you should have to play by the rules.
