Today, Rep. Sal Pace (D-Pueblo) toured Vestas and had a roundtable with a range of Vestas employees. After the tour, Pace held a press conference unveiling steps that could be taken to extend the tax credit and criticized Tipton for his lack of leadership.

Pace laid out a four-prong plan that Tipton could do to prevent further layoffs: (1) Work with leadership to immediately move along a wind energy PTC; (2) Defeat the Ryan Budget, which zeroes out the tax credit; (3) Introduce stand-alone legislation extending the production tax credit for wind energy; and (4) Co-sponsor existing legislation.

Pace said the employees vocalized their fear of losing their jobs and promised them if he is elected and the Wind PTC is not extended by January, that will be his first piece of legislation.

"These hard workers shouldn't live in fear they will lose their jobs because of political games and partisan gridlock," Pace said. "They deserve leadership who will stand up for them; who will prioritize them; and who will act and not just talk. I've laid out a plan of action that our current congressman could follow to save these jobs. It's inexcusable these folks are losing their jobs and security because of election-year partisanship."
