Rep. Pace called out Congressman Tipton today on his wind energy doublespeak as the GOP dropped the wind production tax credit from its platform.
The national GOP dropped the wind production tax credit from its platform that will be voted on next week during the National Republican Committee Convention. This change in policy comes as Vestas Wind begins laying off workers because of the inaction of Congress to extend the tax credit. Scott Tipton is a delegate to the RNC.
By voting for the Ryan Budget, Tipton already is on record voting to eliminate the production tax credit. He has never voted nor introduced legislation to protect it.
Rep. Sal Pace (D-Pueblo) called out U.S. Congressman Scott Tipton (R-Cortez) for his hypocrisy on the wind production tax credit.
"Congressman Tipton has done nothing to extend the production tax credit," Pace said. "In fact, Tipton voted twice for the Ryan budget that would eliminate the wind production tax credit, costing hundreds of jobs right here in Southern Colorado. Now, his party leadership removes the tax credit from their platform. I'm concerned for our community, considering Scott Tipton falls in line with his party almost 100 percent of the time. These are the wrong priorities for Colorado, and Colorado needs a representative who will put Colorado above party and do what's right. "
