Sixth District congressional candidate Andy Barr announced this morning that he has been selected to deliver an address to the Republican National Convention during its first evening session on Monday, August 27, 2012. Barr, whom the National Republican Congressional Committee designated earlier this year as one of the most promising Republican challengers nationwide, issued the following statement:
"I am honored and humbled that my party has offered me the opportunity to tell Kentucky's story to a nationwide audience. Our state has suffered thousands of job losses as a result of ObamaCare, the War on Coal, and other harmful policies from the current Administration. Yet, through the creativity, hard work, and perseverance born of our frontier heritage, Kentuckians have always overcome adversity.
"I look forward to telling America how the vision of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will enable Kentuckians to dream again - unleashing our limitless potential to create jobs and opportunity."
