Today, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) issued the following statement on the 77th Anniversary of the signing of Social Security:

"Happy Birthday Social Security! I have fought against radical schemes to privatize this most important program, of which my father, Congressman John D. Dingell Sr. was an architect. I will continue to fight to preserve, protect, strengthen and defend Social Security for the new millennium so future generations will continue to be guaranteed against poverty in retirement."
