Guthrie Supports Lawsuit for 'Fast and Furious' Documents

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) issued the following statement following the announcement that the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will today file a civil contempt of Congress lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder in relation to his involvement in Operation Fast and Furious.

"I am pleased to learn that my colleagues are following through on our recent vote to hold the Attorney General in contempt of Congress.

"This is a very serious matter, and it is very troubling that President Obama is continuing to refuse to comply with a Congressional subpoena and turn over documents related to Operation Fast and Furious.

"It is my hope that this action will result in transparency from the current Administration as well as closure for the family of Brian Terry."
