Because of budget cuts, Coatesville Area High School had to discontinue its Air Force Junior ROTC program for the coming school year. Parents and students successfully appealed to the school board to allow private funds to keep the program running. My office worked with this group to make sure that the Air Force would not shut down the program while they were feverishly working to raise funds. I'm glad to report that this week, the fundraising goal was exceeded. Junior ROTC isn't just any after school program. It's a program that instills values of citizenship, service to our great country, responsibility, and accomplishment. As an Air Force veteran myself, it was wonderful to be able to support parents who went the extra mile to keep this program open for Coatesville students.
