Democratic Congressional Nominee Michelle Lujan Grisham was endorsed today by the United Steelworkers.
"Michelle Lujan Grisham has a strong record of supporting working families by creating jobs in her own community, not outsourcing our jobs overseas," said Robert LaVenture, Director of USW District 12. "The United Steel Workers proudly endorses Michelle Lujan Grisham based on her commitment to fighting for worker's rights and restoring America's economy through tougher trade enforcement, enforcement of the Buy American provisions in the Recovery Act to ensure our taxpayer dollars are used to buy goods in our country, employment retraining, and incentives for investments in U.S. infrastructure. The bottom line is that it's time to bring jobs home."
Michelle Lujan Grisham said today's support from the Steelworkers reflects her own endorsement of working New Mexico families.
"In Congress, I will focus on the working families by ending subsidies to corporations that send jobs overseas and help businesses that create jobs here," Lujan Grisham said. "It's time that we end the practice of wasting taxpayer money on foreign companies to build major infrastructure projects like the Bay Bridge project in California, costing American manufacturing jobs. We must invest in American workers if we are going to restore the Middle Class."
