Bono Mack to Ruiz: Condemn Nancy Pelosi's Anti-semitic Comments

Today, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) sent the following letter to Dr. Raul Ruiz calling on him to repudiate offensive comments made by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA):

Dear Dr. Ruiz,

Rep. Nancy Pelosi's recent outrageous statement concerning the political exploitation of Jewish voters deserves the condemnation of every American. To imply that support of Israel is a way to mask a hidden desire by wealthy Jews for a tax deduction plays into every anti-semitic stereotype. I am appalled by this remark and condemn it as beneath any public official, let alone the ranking member of the Democratic Party in Congress.

Dr. Ruiz, you have a special obligation as one of Nancy Pelosi's pet candidates to condemn her remarks and immediately demand a retraction. To stay silent will speak volumes.

The environment created by President Obama by virtue of his anti-Israel positions encourages this type of reckless commentary, and there is simply no defense for this behavior which I, along with all fair-minded Americans, find abhorrent.

I once again ask you to stand with all those who reject such despicable tactics and hurtful statements and condemn Rep. Pelosi's comments in the clearest possible terms.
