Rodney Davis, Republican nominee for the 13th Congressional District of Illinois, issued the following statement following the U.S. House of Representatives vote to extend 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for all Americans:
"Stopping a tax increase on all Americans is the right thing to do. It is unconscionable to allow a tax increase on small business owners, farmers, and hundreds of thousands of families right here in Central and Southwest Illinois. Higher taxes lead to higher unemployment. Families in our district can't afford a tax increase."
Rodney Davis, 42, has lived in the 13th District nearly his entire life. He married his high school sweetheart, Shannon. They and their three children live in Taylorville.
