Dr. Dan Benishek continued his "100 in 100" tour today by visiting five businesses in Atlanta. During the "100 in 100" tour, Dr. Dan is visiting 100 small businesses in Northern Michigan in 100 days. He is meeting with local business leaders to hear from them, firsthand, how Washington is affecting their businesses.
"I have always been involved with small business, from the time I was a child and worked in my grandmother's hotel. I know that small businesses don't have extra money or time, that is why it's so important to simplify the tax code," said Dr. Dan outside of R&J Automotive. "As the tax code stands now it hurts small businesses because it's so complex and time consuming. I remember how terrible tax season was when I owned my medical practice--it took me away from my job. I am pushing for a flatter fairer tax system that allows small business owners to focus on their business not on their taxes. "
On his 65th stop, Dr. Dan stopped by R&J Automotive in Atlanta.
"I showed Dr. Benishek how a small business can operate out of a house," said Rick Klien, who owns and operates R&J Automotive out of his house's garage. "We discussed how government can help small businesses like mine through a better tax system that does not punish small business owners."
By the end of today, Dr. Dan will have visited 67 businesses since his tour began on May 1st. To find out more about the Doctor's "100 in 100" tour and his small business plan, visit Benishek2012.com.
