Congressman Rick Berg issued the following statement today regarding the latest unemployment report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
"Another month of unemployment above 8 percent, and another reminder that President Obama's policies are failing our country," stated Berg. "For 42 consecutive months, unemployment remains over 8 percent, including a devastating "real' unemployment rate of 15 percent, because the overregulation by the folks in Washington has created a cloud of uncertainty over our job creators. To get our economy back on track and Americans back to work, the President should look to North Dakota and adopt our common sense solutions that have removed job-killing regulatory barriers, encouraged energy production, and provided small business with the needed certainty to create jobs and grow the economy."
A member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Berg has worked tirelessly to limit government regulations and advocate for small business in North Dakota and nationwide. Berg also serves as a member of the Congressional Job Creators Caucus.
Berg has consistently voted for job-creating bills that have yet to be taken up by Harry Reid and the Democratic Senate. These bills would empower small business owners, reduce the regulatory burdens that hurt job creation and business growth, and encourage the growth of America's energy sector.
