U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) today praised news that the Maine Military Authority (MMA) has received an additional $40 million for Fiscal Year 2012 from the National Guard Bureau (NGB). MMA plans to utilize this funding to recapitalize nearly 730 additional High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, or Humvees, by the end of May 2013. The funding will also allow the company to rehire approximately 25 employees who were laid off last year.

"This critical funding is an affirmation of the tremendous skill and dedicated work ethic the employees at Maine Military Authority bring to the table," said Senator Snowe. "It is a testament to all of the men and women at MMA that the National Guard Bureau has recognized the extraordinary value they are able to provide by quickly and efficiently refurbishing Humvees for the National Guard."
