Issue Position: Community Involvement

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

For too long, politics has been inappropriately disconnected from community involvement. Perhaps the best example is in education. One of the most significant factors determining students' scholastic success is the involvement of parents in the school. We need to encourage people to become more involved in their communities, not as some goal to be done after the election, but as an integral part of the political process. The success of a community comes from businesses, non-profit organizations, religious organizations and the government all working together for the common good.

I hope my campaign will not only lead to greater involvement for me in the General Assembly in Hartford, but also for greater involvement of the people of Woodbridge, Orange and Derby in all aspects of our community.
