Price Statement on July Jobs Report

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding the July 2012 jobs report:

"With millions of Americans out of work and job creators facing a mountain of uncertainty, President Obama and Congressional Democrats have been spending their time and energy fighting for a massive tax hike on small businesses. But, of course, the absolute last thing the American people or our economy needs is Washington taking more money away from the small business entrepreneurs responsible for creating the majority of new jobs.

"President Obama has said his economic policies have worked. He claims the private sector is doing just fine. The American people know differently, and that is why House Republicans voted this week to stop the tax hike on all Americans. It is why we have moved legislation through the House time and again that promotes investment in the private sector, encourages job creation through the exploration and production of American-made energy, and eliminates the unnecessary regulatory red tape holding back our economy. Hopefully President Obama and Washington Democrats will acknowledge not only that we can do better but that we will do better when we put in place policies that stop growing the size of Washington and start growing confidence in our economy."
