Florida's economy depends on a strong housing market. Because of the 2008 financial crisis, Florida's housing market began to free fall. Unfortunately, homeowners who played by the rules were the ones who suffered while Wall St. got bailed out. The best way to help Florida's housing market recover is to encourage and provide resources to local banks to help homeowners refinance and stay in their homes. Our state must work to keep people in their homes and prevent foreclosure. Many homeowners were also the victims of foreclosure fraud. As state representative, I will push our attorney general to prosecute banks who have illegally foreclosed on homeowners.
