Today Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and I introduced the Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2012, which helps increase the role of women in preventing and resolving conflict around the globe. To read more, please click here.

Unfortunately, women and girls are disproportionately affected by violence and armed conflict. But despite this reality, they are often under-represented in conflict prevention efforts and at peace talks. This bill will ensure that more women play a meaningful role going forward and have a seat at the table.
