"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows that as government increases, liberty decreases." -- Thomas Jefferson
I believe the Constitution, and particularly the Bill of Rights, was intended to limit the scope and role of government to the most essential functions: To preserve individual liberty and to protect private property. Because government tends to grow larger over time, I am committed to limiting and reducing the size of State government. Big government is ineffective, unaccountable, and cumbersome, and when unchecked, it eventually encroaches on the individual rights and liberty of its citizens.
