I believe as our service members transition into civilian lives and careers that Alaska should accept relevant military education, training, and service as equivalent qualifications for a license or certificate. For instance, if you qualify in the military for a commercial driver's license (CDL) then you should be allowed to waive the CDL test as a veteran. Alaskans who honed their professional skills while in service to our nation deserve to have that experience validated and honored when they enter the civilian world.
As your representative I will introduce and support legislation accepting your military education, training and service as equivalent qualifications.
