To reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources and to sustain a clean and healthy environment, Arizona must diversify its energy mix. This means developing new energy sources, and just as important, using existing resources in the most efficient way possible. While alternative energy technologies like solar and wind are worthy of our study, I believe it is also in the interest of the state to continue growing our nuclear energy program. The last nuclear power plant built in the United States was Arizona's Palo Verde. I would like to see the next U.S. plant built here as well.
