Many people have asked, "Why would a Dentist want to run for government office?" My answer is clear; I am concerned and motivated to the point of action! Much has been said this election cycle about Private Sector individuals serving in elected positions in Juneau. This is much more than just a new political trend. Common sense tells us that successful businessmen and women have the experience, courage and decisiveness that is needed to push our State forward.
Why are so many business people concerned to the point of action? Why are we stepping aside in the private sector to serve the various communities of our State? Again, the answer is clear. We feel and absorb the effects of big federal government on our local businesses and understand that the current solutions will not strengthen the economy. Should you be concerned? The answer to that is yes!
I bring to the table many years of work in the construction trades, both union and non-union jobs. I served several years in the Alaska Air National Guard, with many trips overseas, including Operation Desert Storm. I received my undergraduate education right here at UAF and continued my dental education at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska. I have served in several leadership positions in my current profession, including President of the Alaska Dental Society. My wife and I own an Alaskan business with Alaskan employees. This great State has been good to me and it's time that business minded men and women step up and strengthen our future.
