Congressman Steve Scalise today issued the following statement after voting for Ron Paul's bill to audit the Federal Reserve, of which he is a cosponsor. The bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 327 to 98.

"We need to audit the Federal Reserve because hard-working taxpayers deserve to know the truth about the trillions of dollars the Fed has obligated without any transparency or accountability," Scalise said. "We must control wasteful government spending, especially considering our country's record deficits and skyrocketing national debt."
