"When the Obama Administration, Betty Sutton and their allies in Washington passed the stimulus in 2009, they projected growth this year would be 4.3 percent. Today's GDP numbers from the Commerce Department show 1.5 percent growth in the second quarter, painting a far bleaker picture of our economy. Over the last year, the economy has only grown at an average of 1.9 percent and the unemployment rate has remained above 8 percent for an unprecedented 41 months.
"With anemic growth like this it is no surprise many in Ohio feel like we are in a recession. What should also be apparent to Ohioans is that the supporters of big-government, top-down policies for our economic woes are simply in over their heads. Their ideas have failed and Ohio families and businesses are paying a steep price as a result. If Washington wants to help our economy, it need only get out of the way."
