As the first member of my family to earn a bachelor degree, I have personally experienced how education has opened doors that otherwise would have remained closed. Access to quality education is crucial to prepare our children for jobs of the future in a competitive global market. Our local and state economy depends on it.
I will work for:
*Access to preschool programs and all-day kindergarten
*Increased support for teachers so they are better prepared to help our children graduate at higher rates and become the leaders of tomorrow
*Affordable higher education because our community colleges, universities and technical schools cannot sustain further budget cuts without sacrificing quality and accessibility for students. Further cuts will jeopardize our state's competitiveness.
